About PEPAS
The Pension Administration Unit (PAU) is one of eight (8) business units of the
Public Service Establishment Division (PSED) within the Ministry of Finance and
the Public Service. The PAU is responsible for the processing of retiring benefits
and welfare of Government Pensioners.
Following the engineering of its pension administration process to improve services,
reduce processing costs and improve operational performance, the PAU embarked on
the design and implementation of this Public Employees’ Pension Administration System
(PEPAS).
PEPAS is an online pension administration system designed to address some of the
key challenges of pension administration in Jamaica. PEPAS allows for: public servants,
after a complete life of service, to access their service record, get timely processing
of their applications for pension benefits and the pension administration unit to
better streamline their process of managing and administering pension benefits.
PEPAS also supports the processing of pension benefit claims and payouts.
PEPAS was developed with funding received from the International Bank for Reconstruction
and Development (IBRD) to assist with financing certain aspects of the country’s
Social Protection Project (SPP). SPP is a project aimed at supporting Jamaica in
strengthening its social protection system.
